The other day the Shoppers Drug Mart near me had a big hand-lettered sign in the window saying "Sorry, we're out of Javex". Should I be worried about something?

Who the hell decided that twist-ties should be a thing of the past? When was that meeting? Because IMHO "easy-tie" trash bags are anything but.

No one's done any house-keeping on the computers here at MSC for ages. The hard drives are full of folders bearing the names of employers two years gone now. In a burst of fussiness this week I burned about 20 gigs of old files onto DVDs and filed them away, on the microscopic chance someone will need to look at them in the future.

I've seen that before - usually, all it means is that they were advertising a special price in a flyer and they sold out, and they're tired of people coming in and asking for Javex.

Either that, or there's a terrorist faction of pigeons dive-bombing people's windows all over town, and there's been a panicked rush on cleaning supplies...

No twist ties? Gee, collect action figures; then you'll have enough twist ties (or small twisty bits of plastic-coated metal) to last you for years.
