Mars

The candy bar that is. But not anymore! It now says energy bar on the wrapper. While this is literally true, come on people! It's a freaking chocolate bar! And besides, it's all simple sugars that result in a sharp spike in your blood sugar level, while real energy bars, being much more complex, provide a boost over a much longer period of time. What's next? Potato chips as an important source of grease?

I also noticed their bus ads today: "Caffeine is for old farts." Aside from the fact that any ad that uses the expression "old fart" annoys me greatly, doesn't chocolate have caffeine in it anyway?

caffeine in chocolate

"doesn't chocolate have caffeine in it anyway?"

I was thinking the same thing, so I did a Google search to look for a respectable site that could tell me about it.

One of the first results that comes up is from the "Chocolate Information Center" and looks scientific enough (with charts and chemical structure diagrams). But, ya gotta look at the fine print, of course : "(C) Mars Incorporated" and "supported by Mars Incorporated".
