Touching the Void

Saw Touching the Void recently, about two British mountain climbers who went up this unclimbed Andes cliff face and got into serious trouble coming down. One broke his leg, and while his friend was trying to slide him down the mountain on a rope, 300 feet at the time, he went over an ice cliff and couldn't do anything but dangle. Untimately, the friend had to cut the rope.

Since the movie consists of interviews with both men (and recreations with actors), you know they both make it out, but it's absolutely harrowing listening to them talk about the experience, and seeing what that mountain was like.

Afterwards, I wandered over to the nearby Chapters, because I wanted to take a quick flip thru the book of the same name to follow up on some details. I couldn't find it at first in the Adventure/Travel section, so went to one of the computer terminals to look it up and see what section it was in. Lo and behold, the terminal I approached was displaying "Touching to Void", in the General Sports section. I guess I wasn't the only person who had that idea that evening.
