Columbia: The Facts

There's an excellent FAQ on the Columbia accident to be found here. It's being written and updated by a bunch of smart people from the newsgroups, and should be required reading.

For one thing, it's set me straight on the space station reboosting, which I had erroneously posted as being performed primarily by the shuttle. The shuttle does do reboosting before it leaves the station, but so can the Russian Progress supply modules, and the station itself has two rocket engines that can use fuel delivered by Progress, so reboosting shouldn't be a problem even in the event of an extending shuttle grounding.
