I'm known for a couple of weeks that work was going to start on the roof of my house, but since I'm in the basement I figured it wouldn't affect me much.

Till this morning when I opened my door to leave and my little stairwell was completely blocked off with plywood and tarps.

I could hear the workmen and there was the little pitter-patter of debris falling in the tarps above me, so with some judicious yelling of "Hey! Man alive down here!" they stopped work for me to squeeze out practically on my hands and knees.

They're supposed to arrange for easier access for me today, let's see if it happens.
