Saw the new James Bond on the weekend, and it gets a definite thumbs up. The pacing of the picture is a bit of a problem (slows down a lot in the second half), but the chase sequences are amazing and Daniel Craig really pulls it off. And Judy Dench is magnificent.

Only problem is me and the friends could only get tickets to the 10:40 show, so it was 1:45 by the time I got home. Remember when movies used to have a start time of 8:30 - 9 PM? Now they start at either 7 PM, which means it's almost impossible to get dinner beforehand, or they start at 10PM plus, which means you won't get home before midnight at the earliest, which is a problem if you're working the next day. The reps (those are are still around) have reasonable starting times, but the multiplexes now consistently screw with you.

Is this a factor of longer movies, lack of projectionists at the multiplexes, trying to maximize bums in seats?
