The coolest toy ever.

This weekend saw a party at the home of angrykat and twiddler, to celebrate Robbie Burns' (and angrykat's) birthdays. Also present were moon_custafer, green_trilobite, boywhocantsayno, indefatigable42, nexstarman, and other, non-LJ people. Many participated in the scotch tasting, while I stuck to my Mike's Hard Lemonade (two full bottles, about as much as I ever drink).

One of the highlights of the evening was a toy angrykat had just gotten, an electronic version of Twenty Questions, which has to be one of the coolest toys ever. You select an object in your head, choose Animal, Vegetable, Mineral, or Other, and answer the questions it asks with Yes, No, Sometimes, or Unknown. After twenty questions, and some trash talking, it guess your object. If it's wrong, it asks five more questions and guesses again.

Whoever programmed this thing knew their onions. When I tried it, it correctly guessed on the first try rocking chair, the Sun, LP record, and plutonium! (That last one got a "Holy Crap" out of me, and moon_custafer can testify to my complete astonishment.) It missed locket, guessing first engagement ring, then wedding ring, but my answers to some of the questions might have been off.

Not quite as much fun as The Sith Sense, but certainly more portable.

When I used it, it missed almost every time--I couldn't seem to help but stump it.
