Playing catch up again.

Saw The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe last weekend and it blew my socks off. Loved it, loved it, loved it from the first shot of the Luftwaffe bearing down on London. Georgie Henley (as Lucy) was astonishing, and the heart and soul of the movie. Some of the wide F/X shots were a little bit off, but the character animations of Aslan, the centaurs, and the talking beavers were perfect. And Tilda Swinton was just . In case you didn't catch it (I only did thanks to cleolinda) that's Aslan's mane she's wearing in the final battle scene.

Got together with owlfish and colins_journal Sunday and some dinner and some Gatchaman at my place. They're in town so she could do her thesis defence yesterday, which she sailed thru. Yay! She still has do to corrections and submit final paperwork, but there's only a months worth of corrections, which means she won't have to pay tuition again in January. A lot of us, including moon_custafer, green_trilobite, and henchminion met up with them at the Duke of York last night to celebrate.

The Anime North exec meeting on Tuesday went well. A lot of stuff goes into high gear once we move into the New Year, but I really do think that our 10th con is going to run smoothly and be a lot of fun. (For me. For once.)

Most, not all, of the Xmas shopping is done.

The snow drifts down outside my window. Since the TTC bus schedule will be shot to hell because of it, I might as well go out at any random time and just wait till the bus comes. Just hope it does.

Update: Didn't have any trouble getting home at all. Bus came after about ten minutes, and it only took about ten minutes longer to get to the station. Weather wasn't that bad at all, visibility was fine, and it wasn't even really cold, just barely freezing if that.

Re: You are technically correct - the best kind of correct!

Ha. I'm not holding my breath. Remember they dropped the "TTC Timeline" (a computer system that told you when the next scheduled bus was supposed to arrive when you called a phone number at each stop) because it wasn't year 2000 compliant (?). Funny, Hamilton managed to overcome this problem.

As did OC Transpo. (Although my Dollarama bill from a few days ago is dated "1906".) I never got around to writing it up before leaving town, but I've had a big What's Wrong With The TTC post kicking around in my head for months. (Why did Downsview station have to be so much worse than the much cheaper Finch station? Why?!)
