Very tired

It's been a long couple of days. I found out on Wednesday that I had made a mistake a while back in the development of a computer model for the big project I've been on for months. Fortunately it's not in use yet, and after some long nights in the office I can now say it's at least 90% fixed, and maybe 100%.

Still, I feel like an idiot, and it's not going to endear me to the client any. I made the mistake I'm always railing at others for making, assuming that because the computer says so, it must be true. You've always got to validate the model somehow against real-world data before you can sign off on it.

I need to get a good night's sleep tonight, as I'm running The Merril Collection SF Flea Market tomorrow and have to get there bright and early. I think I'll be able to sleep properly tonight now.

Lots of really good developers have done exactly that--I hope you're not beating yourself up over it too much.

Things look like they're under control now. All I have to do is survive the weekly conference call Wednesday. Thanks for the kind words.
