The Bush "Landslide"

Yeah, the stereotype of evil, backwards, hick states voting overwhelmingly for Bush just isn't true. (Although D.C. voted 90% for Kerry, LOL!) Nor did higher turnout win the day for the Dems. Perhaps if they shift to the center (and refrain from choosing a Massachusetts liberal who married rich as their candidate), they'll be able to win some of those states in 2008.

I know I'd love to be able to cheer for the Democrats for once, rather than some death penalty loving, Canada-ignoring, Christian fundamentalist.

The sad thing is, a lot of people are posting the county-by-county maps that show that some huge proportion of counties in the US voted for Bush. No matter how hard one tries, it's impossible to convince them that the vote in each of those counties was something like 55-45, and that Bush's "mandate" is hardly a sweeping one.
