All Praise Sedna!

A NASA team has discovered the further object known in the solar system, a planetoid now named Sedna three-quarters the size of Pluto (and the largest object discovered in the solar system since Pluto). It orbits nearly 13 billion km out.

It probably only a matter of time till we find something bigger than Pluto out there. That will make is tough for Pluto to maintain its "planet" status. When initially discovered, Pluto was thought to be considerable larger than it really is (smaller than the Moon), and if found today certainly wouldn't be called a planet. There was a semi-major flap in the astronomy community several years back about downgrading it to planetoid status.
