Someone didn't get the joke

On SPACE just now, they had an ad for the Worldcon, and they were listing the Guests of Honor. Quote:

"SEE George R. R. Martin, Frank Kelly Freas, Mike Glyer, Spider Robinson, and Robert Bloch!"

Someone should have explained the concept of the GoHst of Honor more carefully, as of course Bob Bloch is long passed away.

Well, remember that the New York Times ran an obituary for Bob Hope, written by someone who died in 2000, and only a comedy show ("The Daily Show with Jon Stewart") caught it.

Unless you bang the average TV viewer over the head with a 2x4, very few will notice anything like, well, the truth or the details. Something like "GoHst of Honour" is probably waaaaaaaay over the head of the average Space viewer. Actually, everyone listed is probably above the head of the average Space viewer.

That's not too cynical, is it?
